Visual Inout Festival 2016

The first edition of the festival gathered a diverse group of national and international photographers. Our purpose was to explore the kaleidoscope of visual stories about Romania, bringing their work in a common place, IN/OUT Transylvania Photo Festival.
By inviting a large group of photographers from different socio-cultural environments who all shared the experience of photographing in Romania, we look at how their personal and cultural background influenced their decision-making process when selecting and photographing the topic. We also questioned the image these photographs create for Romania – outside and inside the country.
We hope that by exhibiting projects focused on different subjects about Romania, we manage to emphasize the importance of showing multiple photo stories in the fight against cultural stereotypes.
